Introducing my stereomicroscope

Recently I bought a stereomicroscope, also know as binocular magnifier or dissection microscope. It is an Euromex, Novex 4-AP model. It is for amateurs, altough it has a good image quality and is robust. In my opinion, it is great value for money.

There are other models in the same Novex AP family that have more features, e.g., bottom lighting or rotating objectives with dual magnification (10x and 30x for example). But I think that I won't use those features so I just chose what I needed.

Some words about the photographs: I took the images with a 2Mpixel Bressel digital eyepiece and the quality is not very good. With the stereomicroscope the best way to enjoy it is by looking through it with your own eyes because it has two eyepieces and two objectives so you can see the specimens in stereographically.  Unfortunately, photography is flat. Therefore, to evaluate the device only by its photographs is dificult, and you need to see it with your own eyes.

At present I am working on an Arduino project to make an automatic tissue processor. (using conventional- and  not stereo-microscopy). It is hard to make good microscopic slides because you must prepare the specimen in many chemical solutions sequentially and that is very time consuming, so that this device could be very useful. I will post about that new project when it is more developed.
